Phil Collins was the star of the show when Wallingford's Horse & Harrow beat against Oxford's reigning champions Morris Motors 3-2 in the All England Team Championships Area final. The match was held at the Red Lion in Cassington.
Motors' Pauline Withey began with a break of 6,870 in the deciding game, however Collins replied with a run of 8,600 leading to a 8,970-7,050 victory for Horse & Harrow.
Ray Sturgess with 8,280 and Keith Sheard with 12,040, break 10,380 had given Morris Motors a 2-0 lead. The Horse & Harrow fought back with Garry Johnson with 17,160, break 10,370 and Pete Burton with 7,870 before Collins snatched victory.
The Horse & Harrow now go on to the All England finals in Reading on Sunday October 22.
