Mike Russell, eight-time world champ in English billiards is favored to win this years. He is the favored hopeful to take first prize in this year's championships. First place prize purse is is £5,000 from a total prize fund of £15,250. It will be contested by 14 players, and the initial group matches will be played over one 120-minute session. The top two players in each group then progress to the quarter-finals, which are played over one 150-minute session. Semi-finals are played over two 120-minute sessions and the final is played over two 150-minute sessions.
